In just a few short hours, everyone will know where their favorite team is headed for bowl season. Alabama beat Georgia in an epic SEC Championship to punch their ticket to Miami where they will play Notre Dame in the BCS National Championship. The Crimson Tide are in search of their 3rd national title in 4 years. The other conference championship games did not bring much excitement. Florida State, Louisville, Kansas State, Wisconsin, and Stanford also solidified their spots in a BCS bowl. Oregon and Florida will most likely be headed to a BCS bowl as well, leaving one spot open. This is where it gets interesting. The final spot in a BCS bowl will probably be going to Oklahoma or Northern Illinois. NIU is looking to become the 1st MAC team to ever play in a BCS bowl. The Huskies must finish in the top 16 of the final BCS standings to qualify. I project them to finish just outside at #17, opening the door for Oklahoma.
