Ohio (+7.5) vs. UL-Monroe
The Independence Bowl got snubbed in more ways than 1 this season. This bowl game located in Shreveport, Louisiana has agreements with the ACC and SEC. Neither of these conferences had enough bowl eligible teams to land slots in the Independence. They got the luxury of two Louisiana teams being eligible with no tie-ins. Louisiana-Monroe accepted the invite. Louisiana Tech held out for greener pastures. Tech ended up in no bowl game and the Independence Bowl captured Ohio to face UL-Monroe. Ohio was ranked at a point in the year, but lost four of their last five to finish 8-4. UL-Monroe also finished 8-4 and used an early season win over Arkansas to bolster their recognition. The Warhawks definitely played better football than the Bobcats down the stretch. I would expect that to continue in front of the Louisiana fans.
