2013-2014 NHL Predictions

There is no sitting around waiting for an ugly lockout to end this year. The puck will drop on the 2013-2014 NHL season on time. In a strange twist, the Pittsburgh Penguins are not the oddsmakers favorite to hoist the Cup. That title belongs to the defending Stanley Cup champions, the Chicago Blackhawks. Though the Pens are the favorite in the revamped Eastern Conference.

I have picked the Stanley Cup champion correctly before the last 3 seasons. Can I make it 4 in a row? Here is how I see the upcoming NHL season to shake out.

Eastern Conference

Atlantic Division
1. Boston
2. Montreal
3. Detroit
4. Toronto
5. Ottawa
6. Tampa Bay
7. Buffalo
8. Florida

Metropolitan Division

2. NY Rangers
3. Washington
4. NY Islanders
5. Philadelphia

NFL - Week 4 Predictions

Ringer's Record
Last Week ATS: 8-8
Last Week SU: 8-8

Season ATS: 26-22
Season SU: 29-19

It is now Week 4 of the NFL season and we are starting to learn some things about some teams. Denver and Seattle are the cream of the crop. Miami and Kansas City are for real. San Francisco's lack of receivers is haunting them. And Pittsburgh, Washington, and the Giants may just be bad football teams. There are still 7 undefeated teams, and 6 teams without a win. Who will extend those streaks? Here is how I expect Week 4 to unfold.

Season ATS: 35-42

Last week's college football schedule lacked intrigue. So much so that Gameday actually attended the North Dakota State-Delaware State game. This week is much different. Conference play goes into full effect as we get four matchups between ranked teams. I only posted a .500 record ATS last week, but I used the many mismatches to go 18-0 SU. Here is how I expect Week 5 to play out. (Rankings based on Ringer Poll)

After a riveting Week 1 in the NFL, football is in full effect. There is a terrific slate of Week 2 games this week. Denver heads to The Meadowlands, the site of Super Bowl XLVIII, as Peyton and Eli square off in the Manning Bowl. And that may not even be the headlining matchup. The NFL's newest rivalry game takes place Sunday night when perhaps the two best teams in the NFL go head to head as San Francisco visits Seattle. Here is how I expect Week 2 to unfold.

NCAA Football - Week 2 Predictions

Ringer's Record
ATS: 8-14
SU: 19-3

The SEC went down in last week's marquee matchup as Georgia lost to Clemson. This showed that maybe the super conference has some vulnerability. But then again, Alabama dominated on the scoreboard despite a lackluster offensive performance. Nonetheless, there is plenty of football to be played. Luckily for me I have plenty of time to improve my record as I finished 8-14 ATS and 19-3 SU last week. Here is how I expect Week 2 to play out. (Rankings based on Ringer Poll)

2013 NFL Predictions

It is finally here! The 2013 NFL season officially gets underway in just a few days. The reigning Super Bowl champion, Baltimore Ravens, open up on the road in Denver. The Ravens and Broncos are expected to be contenders once again this year. But the great thing about the NFL is its unpredictability. The Ravens were the latest team to get hot at the right time and wind up lifting the Lombardi Trophy when nobody thought they would. The Super Bowl will have a different feel to it this year, as it heads north to The Meadowlands. When it's all said and done, I have Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos winning it all in Eli's home, just as Eli did in Peyton's home during the 2011 season. Here is a look at how I expect the 2012 NFL season to unfold. (Playoff teams are listed in bold and italics).

AFC East
New England 11-5
Miami 7-9
NY Jets 6-10
Buffalo 5-11

AFC North

2013 NFL Preview

The NFL season is just around the corner. We are gearing up for the the NFL Kickoff Thursday night as the defending champion, Baltimore Ravens open up on the road in Denver. Final cuts were made over the weekend and depth charts are being finalized. Depth on your football team is what leads to championships. With players getting faster and stronger every year, injuries are becoming more prevalent. Being exposed in any given area of your team can spell doom. Title hopes are dashed every season by a unit getting exposed. Where are the weaknesses on your favorite team? Take a look at the position by position rankings for every team in the NFL.
